Did You Know...
In the United States, approximately 70% of all business do not have a contingency plan should an incident or unplanned event cause a temporary closure of its business.
20 percent of all businesses will undergo some type of unplanned incident such as a power outage, a fire, a flood, a hardware/software malfunction, etc.
80% of these businesses will not remain open within 2 years after the incident.
43% of the businesses will never reopen.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 93% of companies with a significant data loss will go out of business within 5 years of the incident.
If your
business is part of the 70% of all businesses without a Business Recovery or
Incident Contingency Plan, you may feel comforted that you are in good
company.
You may
also feel like a crisis, emergency, or unplanned event might never happen to
your company. Think again...
Is your company part of the 70%?
It doesn't have to be.

Your Business Recovery Plan
Monday, August
11, 2008
7:30 - 10:30 am
NBPCI has teamed up with Flexible Business Recovery Options, LLC to bring this seminar to the Washington metro area to provide you with the tools to create a Business Recovery/Incident Contingency Plan for your organization. This three hour seminar is geared for Small Business Principles with staffing of 50 employees or less. (If you have more than 50 employees, you may still attend, though you will need additional resources to complete the plan due to the complexity of your business.)
Knowing how busy business principles are, the time that needs to be allocated to complete a contingency plan may seem overwhelming, which is why this seminar was created. During the three hour seminar, you will gain valuable information be provided with forms to build your contingency plan. We will work on you contingency plan together so that when you leave the seminar, you will have a contingency plan that is ready to use.
Why Should You Attend This Seminar?
Just as you have insurance should an unplanned event occur, your contingency plan is your insurance in preparation for the unexpected. Things go wrong...Hurricane Katrina doesn't happen often, but what about a power outage or a snow storm, or what if you lose a key person in your organization? Who and how is the unexpected handled? Without a plan, the organization may continue to operate with some degree of chaos. The results aren't always good. With a plan, there is a higher probability of a positive outcome. It is all about managing risk.
This Isn't Only About IT...
While most companies are reliant upon their IT departments to keep the systems running reliably, the focus of a contingency plan is not strictly IT related. We will take an organizational approach to your recovery plan without an emphasis on IT. Yes, there will be some IT information integrated into Your Business Recovery Plan, but IT will share the plan with accounting, HR, sales, marketing, etc. This plan is not about your IT department.
How Will We Do So Much In Such A Short Time?
Prior to the seminar, you will be asked to bring specific pieces of information regarding your organization to input into your contingency plan. We will work through breakfast, to maximize our time. Upon returning to your place of business, you will have additional information that will need to be added to your plan in the form of homework. The plan will take some preparation and work to complete, but it will be worth it!
PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!!!
Due to the intensity of this seminar, we will be limiting the amount of participants based upon the makeup of the class. (When we reach our capacity, we will close the registration.)
