Jim joined a predecessor unit of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Ft. Worth, Texas (General Dynamics - Ft. Worth Division), in 1987 as a staff attorney. He became Deputy General Counsel of the same unit in 1994 after its acquisition by Lockheed Corporation. In 1996, he was named General Counsel of the Aeronautics Material Management Center (“AMMC”) in Ft. Worth. In 2000, when AMMC and three other business units were consolidated into the Aeronautics Company, Jim became its Chief Counsel for Operations. In 2005 Jim moved to Corporate Headquarters where he serves as Associate General Counsel for Litigation and Compliance. In that role, Jim advises on government and international contracts, investigations and litigation.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Virginia in 1977, where he graduated with High Distinction. His Juris Doctorate was earned from the University of Kansas in 1980, and his Master of Laws and Letters in Procurement Law from the National Law Center of George Washington University in 1986. Jim served on active duty with the U.S. Army from 1980-1983.
